When daylight fades, another side of Culpeper comes to life. Step into the shadows of downtown for an evening of ghostly tales, eerie local legends, and the darker chapters of the town’s past. Along the way, discover the stories that linger behind historic buildings and familiar streets—and decide for yourself what might still haunt them. Join History Walks Culpeper for a guided walk of approximately one mile at an easy pace. Whether you’re drawn to history, curious about the unexplained, or simply looking for a spooky October evening, come see Culpeper in a different light. Ghost tours run on select Thursday and Friday evenings in October, with additional Saturday dates. All tours begin at 6:30 p.m. October dates: 8, 9, 15, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, and 31. Along the way, you’ll hear true accounts drawn from eyewitness stories, historic records, and generations of Culpeper folklore. This isn’t a jump-scare tour — it’s a chance to connect with the lives (and afterlives) of those who shaped the town. We’ll cover about one mile at a relaxed pace with plenty of stops. Guests are welcome to take photos — many have captured strange mists, orbs, and unexplained shapes in the darkness. Tour price: $25 per person
